Product Overview

ALTRAD SPAR’s NZL PLANKS, LVL Scaffold Boards are engineered laminated veneer lumber (LVL) OSHA proof-tested platforms designed for industrial scaffolding and formwork applications. One plank is a product made from rotary-peeled pine hardwood veneers, bonded with phenol formaldehyde adhesive, and hot-pressed under controlled temperature and pressure to provide high structural strength and consistent mechanical performance.

The boards are certified for safety and deflection control of platforms by tests to BS EN 12811-1 Annex C, BS EN 13377, and Aramco GI 8.001 §5.2, providing confidence in their safety and compliance for steel platforms.

Key Features & Advantages

  • High Strength-to-Weight Ratio: Safe working load ≥ 2.5 kN/m² with minimal deflection.
  • Uniform Structure: Cross-laminated veneers reduce warping and splitting.
  • Fire-Retardant Coating: Complies with Class B flame spread per ASTM E84.
  • Water-Resistant Glue Line: Phenol formaldehyde bond tested per EN 314-2.
  • Anti-Slip Surface: Machined or sanded top with optional grit coating.
  • Dimensional Stability: Resists swelling and shrinkage under humidity.
  • Aramco & SABIC Certified: Fully compliant with scaffold platform requirements for non-metallic decks.

Quality Assurance (QA / QC)

Inspection Procedure:

  • Veneer visual grading (defect-free face veneers).
  • Glue line verification and press calibration check.
  • Dimensional inspection ± 1 mm.
  • Bending test sample for every production batch.
  • Coating adhesion and slip resistance check.
  • Final moisture and identification test.
