Product Overview

ALTRAD SPAR’s Scaffolding Ancillaries are precision-engineered accessories that connect, stabilize, and secure scaffolding systems across industrial, construction, and energy-sector applications.

All fittings are drop-forged, machine-threaded, and zinc-plated or hot-dip galvanized, ensuring full compliance with Aramco GI 8.001 Section 5.0, SABIC §9.4, and BS EN 74-1/2/3 performance standards.

Each fitting undergoes proof load, torque, and coating verification testing, ensuring reliability in oil, gas, petrochemical, and infrastructure environments. These components are compatible with (Cuplock), (Ringlock), and traditional tube & fitting systems.

Key Ancillary Components

a) Base Plates

Base plates provide load distribution and ground stability for vertical standards. Manufactured from mild steel plate (6–8 mm) with a central welded socket, they are load-tested to BS EN 12811 and Aramco GI 8.001 §5.2.

  • Standard Sizes: 150 × 150 × 6 mm, 150 × 150 × 8 mm
  • Material: S235 / S355 (EN 10025)
  • Coating: Hot-Dip Galvanized ≥ 85 µm (ISO 1461)
  • Load Capacity: 40 kN (SWL)

b) Spigot Connectors

Used to join vertical standards in both systems. Made from machined mild steel tube (38 mm OD × 3.2 mm thk) with welded end stops, fully galvanized per ISO 1461.

  • Load Capacity: Axial compression 45 kN per BS EN 12811.
  • Safety Factor: 1.5 per Aramco GI 8.001.
  • Marking: ALTRAD SPAR | SPIGOT | BATCH | YEAR

Couplers and Clamps

ALTRAD SPAR manufactures and supplies a full range of forged couplers in compliance with BS EN 74-1/2/3, SABIC §9.4, and OSHA 1926.451.

Coupler Type Function Material Finish SWL (kN) Compliance
Double Coupler (Right Angle) Connects tubes at 90° Drop-Forged Steel HDG 6.25 BS EN 74-1 Class B
Swivel Coupler Connects tubes at any angle Drop-Forged Steel HDG 6.25 BS EN 74-1 Class B
Sleeve Coupler Joins tube ends inline Pressed / Forged HDG 5.0 BS EN 74-1 Class B
Putlog Coupler Supports transoms to ledgers Pressed Steel HDG 3.0 BS EN 74-1 Class A
Girder Coupler Connects the tube to the beam flange Drop-Forged HDG 10.0 BS EN 74-1 Class B
  • Torque Requirement: 54 ± 9 Nm (BS EN 74-1 Annex B).
  • Corrosion Protection: Hot-dip galvanized ≥ 85 µm (ISO 1461).
  • Test Certification: Load-tested per BS EN 74-1 & SABIC §7.2.

Putlog and Beam Clamps

Used for ledger and transom connections in system and conventional scaffolding. Drop-forged components ensure consistent thread engagement and torque retention.

  • BS EN 74-2 (Durability & Slip Resistance)
  • Aramco GI 8.001 §5.4
  • SABIC §9.4 Platform and Support Standards
